The latest FIFA ranking released on Thursday has seen
Nigeria move up 3 places on the world stage to 33 but the
climb still leaves the African Champions on number 4 on the
African continent. Cote D'Ivoire climbed 2 spots to 17th and
maintain top spot in Africa with Ghana retaining second spot
after moving up to 23 on the world ranking. Algeria had a
big drop from 28th to 32nd spot but retain 3rd spot in Africa.
Mali also dropped in the global ranking but are still 5th in
Africa. Cape Verde's suge continues as they climbed 2 places
to 42nd in the world ranking, same as Cameroon moving 2
places to 59th in the world. Libya emerged the biggest
movers climbing 9 places to 61 on the global scale and 11 on
the continent. On the overall table, Argentina dropped to 3rd
place with Germany replacing the 1978 and 1986 world
champions in 2nd position. Spain retained top spot with
1513 points. Brazil dropped out of the top 10 to 11th, while
England made a giant leap to 10th spot. The next ranking
comes up on November 28.
